Veganised Caesar Sauce

Caesar sauce is one of those sauces that can go with pretty much anything. Ideal in wraps and as a go-to salad dressing, the only issue being, traditional caesar sauce isn’t plant-based. 

Caesar salad was one of those things I had to accept I may not experience again when going vegan, or was it?

Why isn’t caesar dressing vegan?

Traditional caesar dressing ingredients contains anything from egg to dairy and anchovies – sometimes all three at once.

Not the ideal ingredient list for any vegan, so when at a restaurant or shopping, we recommend not going for a caesar dressing. 

What does vegan caesar sauce pair well with?

Caesar sauce is tasty on salads and in wraps.

You can also enjoy it as a topping for roasted or steamed veggies, as sauce for a burger, and a substitute for regular (vegan) mayo in your recipes. 

How to veganise caesar dressing

To make the vegan alternative, it’s going to need a twist from the original ingredients. For an effective alternative, you’ll need a bit of vg mayo, mustard, lemon juice, pickle juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Then you blend it up, adjust for consistency and saltiness, then it’s ready for the fridge.  

Pretty easy right? We know, it saves us a lot of time and money in the long run without having to think too much about and/or buy salad dressing. Helps us eat more salad too, and it’s kid friendly, this recipe is the one.

Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing
A simple veganised version of the US-derived favourite.

Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute, adding a little water if too thick.
  2. Pour into a container or serving bottle and enjoy with your wraps and salads!
