About

My name’s Misael (pronounce Mi-Sa-El), the main author, chef & photographer behind Veganisingit.com.

I started this blog as I feel there’s not enough resources out there to help people on every step of their journey become vegan.

Vegans get a bad rap. And there are many harmful stereotypes attached to those who are vegan, or choose to follow a plant-based lifestyle. Whether people assume them extremist activists, snobby or boring, there’s a lot more to the vegan lifestyle than one may think.

Origins

I used to eat meat and dairy religiously, but when I developed autoimmune issues I eventually started looking into lifestyles that can treat the symptoms chronic illness, and it just so happened that the plant-based diet, when planned right, is high in antioxidants, and helps with healing.

Gradually, I started eating more plant-based and veganising my lifestyle, it wasn’t overnight. In my years of experimenting and veganising everything in my day to day, I learned a lot.

From health to environmental benefits, I discovered that a plant-forward lifestyle is the ideal one to adopt in order to help preserve the world in years to come.

Having discovered how easy it really is to become vegan, I started this vegan blog to share the knowledge I picked up as my way of giving back to the world.

Who this blog is for

This blog is to provide curious people, newbie vegans, pretty much anybody, with answers to as many vegan questions as I know, along with resources and veganised recipes that I wish I had on-hand when I first went vegan.

I do try to tailor my posts for the non-vegan, in an unbiased voice to show people, vegans and non-vegans alike, that a plant-based diet doesn’t need to be restrictive. You don’t need to be a specific type of person to eat vegan food, and those who go for a meat free Monday are still making a difference, despite how some society may paint that perspective.

This site is a judgement free zone for people to optimise their diet, learn how to eat more veggies, further balance their diet, and find their footing with how to approach meat-free cuisine.

We aim to encourage people of all backgrounds and circumstances to experiment with more veggies. Nobody’s perfect, and I think we can all agree everyone needs to eat more fruit and veg, I’m just trying to make that easier for people :).
